Friends of Lake Nokomis’ mission is:
To preserve and improve the lake and its surrounding parks and watershed to ensure a safe, enjoyable resource for future generations
To engage the community through education and programs that advocate a healthy balance between urban living and protecting a natural resource
To promote the lake through partnerships with other local organizations and city, county and state policymakers
We have partnered with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) to be active stewards of the lake and its surrounding watershed. As part of this agreement we will work with the MPRB to coordinate volunteer stewardship activites and to assist in lake monitoring projects when needed, beginning in the spring of 2011.
